We’ve added a new Injury Risk Detection Insight to help you spot early warning signs for potential overuse injuries before they happen.

This insight is based on the latest scientific research, which shows that the likelihood of running-related overuse injuries rises significantly when the distance of a single run exceeds 10% of the longest run completed within the last 30 days.

KULG automatically analyses your training data and provides a risk-level insight when:

  • your latest run is at least 10% longer than any other run in the past 28–35 days

  • the distance of that run exceeds 15 km

Understanding your injury risk levels

When KULG detects a run that fits this pattern, you’ll see one of the following risk categories on your dashboard:

  • Low risk: 10–30% longer than your previous longest run

  • Average risk: 31–100% longer

  • High risk: more than 100% longer

These insights are designed to help you train smarter and stay consistent by balancing progress with recovery and avoiding sudden increases in load that could lead to injury.

Why it matters

A steady, gradual increase in training load is one of the most effective ways to reduce overuse injuries.

With this new KULG insight, you’ll be able to:

  • spot sudden spikes in your long-run distance

  • adjust your plan accordingly

  • keep improving safely and sustainably
